What is kio_mhtml?

kio_mhtml is an ioslave that permits Konqueror to tranparently open and display mhtml files. The purpose, implementation and format of mhtml files, is defined in RFC 2557.

kio_mhtml will eventually replace kmhtConvert as mhtml file viewer. The later will then be used as a converter between war and mhtml files.

What is kio_mhtml status?

kio_mhtml currently (version 0.3) opens and displays mhtml, mht (Windows Web Archive) and eml (Windows Email Archive) files, containing a html document as their main element.

Konqueror intergration is not correctly implemented at the moment, as the default action is to display the 'directory listing' instead of the file index.html. This is why Konqueror needs to be patched.

There is still a lot of work to be done in kio_mhtml, and a lot of testing too. So if you find a bug, please report it and I will try to fix it.
